Information You Enter
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Bethel Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those search terms on its own servers. A message sent to us is used only to understand and answer that message.
Routine Technical Logs
Hosting systems may record an IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. Those logs are reviewed in aggregate for site operations and page use. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may also use cookies or similar tools when enabled.
How the Data Is Used
Technical data supports operation, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and page improvement. We do not sell visitor lists or build an individual user profile from this information.
External Resources
Bethel pages link to town, state, court, library, archive, and third-party search resources. Once you leave these pages, the destination's privacy terms govern what you submit. The sponsored results are supplied by a separate company and are subject to its practices.
Possible Recipients
Hosting and technical providers may process server logs. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the limited automatic data described above. Disclosure can also occur when valid legal process requires it.
Security and Retention
The connection is encrypted, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes stated above. There are no site accounts, passwords, or user profiles stored here.
Visitors Under 18
These reference pages are intended for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor submitted information so it can be removed from our limited records.
Your Connecticut Privacy Rights
Connecticut's Data Privacy Act, CGS ยงยง42-515 through 42-526, provides covered consumers with rights that can include access, correction, deletion, a portable copy, and opt-outs from sale, targeted advertising, or profiling. The statute generally excludes state and local government entities and treats public records separately. It is not a way to erase a Bethel deed, assessor card, court index, or voter record held by a custodian.
For the small amount of data this reference may hold, a request usually means checking the contact mailbox and relevant server logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Requests about records held by Connecticut, Fairfield County as a geographic unit, or Bethel offices must go to the office that keeps the record.
Policy Changes
Revisions will be posted here. Continuing to use the pages after an update indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
